Kitchen Textiles

All products are available in cotton or linen, in a variety of custom colours

Towels, runners, placemats and tablecloths are woven for durability in cotton, linen or hemp. These textiles are based on 19th century examples as well as designs inspired by the past with a modern twist. They are machine washable and tumble dry.

Handloom weavers in 19th century Ontario wove a variety of textiles including handsome and practical textiles for use in the kitchen. The sheer versatility in extant textiles and weaver's drafts in museum collections like the Royal Ontario Museum speaks to the vast knowledge base of producers and consumers who ordered a variety of weave structures appropriate for towelling and table cloths.
